about me

YOGA AND MEDITATION TEACHER

Hello, my name is Ash. I’ve been teaching yoga since May 2023, but my journey began almost a decade earlier when I turned to Ashtanga yoga and meditation to help manage anxiety, depression, and burnout. What began as a personal coping tool gradually evolved into a lifelong path of healing, growth, and spiritual connection and eventually, a calling to teach.

My approach is holistic, grounded, and heart-led. I trained in Hatha, Raja, Bhakti, and Jnana yoga at the Conscious Yoga Academy in Karpathos, Greece, where I also studied meditation, breathwork, yoga nidra and yoga philosophy. I later completed a Yin Yoga training and am currently continuing my studies with a 300-hour Advanced Teacher Training at The Shala in West Norwood.

In my classes, I aim to create a calm, grounded space where students can reconnect with their bodies, quiet the mind, and return to themselves. I draw on a blend of traditional practices and simple rituals to support presence, reflection, and emotional ease. My teaching encourages not just physical release, but a deeper sense of clarity, connection, and inner stillness, especially for those navigating the pressures of modern life.

“Excellent teacher and very patient, would recommend!”

My practice and my life is deeply shaped by the principle of ahimsa, or non-harming. I’ve been vegan for over 12 years, guided by a commitment to reduce suffering, live ethically, and honour the interconnectedness of all beings. These values also show up in how I teach, how I hold space, and how I strive to communicate with kindness, honesty, and compassion.

Outside of yoga, I enjoy endurance running and CrossFit, which help me stay strong, focused, and humble. I live in South London with my wife, Tanith, and our small dog, Pearl. Together, we dream of a more self-sufficient, off-grid life one rooted in nature, autonomy, and shared purpose.

Above all, I believe we find meaning in unity, in truth, and in leading with love - not fear, not ego.
